About me
My name is Jaylan Tran, and I am the Valedictorian of the Class of 2026 at Spring High School in Houston, Texas. Academic excellence is very important to me, but basketball is my true passion. From a young age I have dedicated myself to becoming the best player I can be—constantly learning, training, and competing to improve.
I earned a spot on varsity as a sophomore and, as a junior, helped lead my team to the Bi-District playoffs. We lost in the first round, but that experience motivated me to develop my skills and become a stronger leader. I believe that by improving my play and elevating those around me, our team can make a serious run at a state title.

AAU Experience — Hoop City
Over the past two summers I played for Hoop City, a newer AAU program where I chose to help build the foundation and culture. I was the team’s dominant scorer and we enjoyed strong success together. The coaching staff elected not to keep individual statistics to emphasize team unity over individual recognition — an approach that helped me grow as a leader and a selfless teammate.
I am driven by a deep desire to play basketball at the highest level possible. I spend hours every day training, working on my skills, and improving my conditioning. I hope to join a college program that values discipline, character, and player development where I can contribute immediately and continue to grow as both a student and an athlete.
